Abstract. The author analyzes the culturological interpretation of colour during different eras, particularly during mythological stage, considers colour as a social-cultural phenomenon, undertakes the attempt to recreate the mechanism of colour transformation from a magical sign to a culturological and aesthetical phenomenon, and presents the description of colour symbolism semantic meanings.
