Abstract. The author studies the ethnographic sources of the end of the ХIХ^th - the beginning of the ХХ^th century, which describe the technological process of wool yarn dyeing in the tradition of Komi (Zyryans), basing on the source analysis of the wide range of ethnographic literary works and museum pieces of the end of the ХIХ^th - the beginning of the ХХ^th century reconstructs some of the oldest technologies of wool yarn dyeing lost with time, and reveals the tradition of the Komi people (Zyryans) in this sphere of activity.
