Abstract. The author discusses the problem of folklore binary nature, which is directly connected with the utilitarian essence of national culture, and was differently manifested in the non-written information space of rural environment, and pays attention to the plane of expression and plane of content of folklore as the mechanism for the accumulation and transmission of socially significant information constructing social-cultural reality that is necessary to socium.
