ALFRED LOISY IN INTELLECTUAL SPACE OF FRANCE: MAIN LINES OF CONTINUITY (THE LAST THIRD OF THE XIX TH – THE BEGINNING OF THE XX TH CENTURY)

Metel' Ol'ga Vadimovna
Omsk State University named after F. M. Dostoevskii

Abstract. The purpose of this article is to analyze the intellectual space, in which the formation of the rationalist exegesis of the "father of modernism" A. Loisy occurred. Thematically the article is divided into two parts: the first part is devoted to the reconstruction of the overall picture of secular and theological thought development under the conditions of the conflict between science and religion, the second – to the analysis of the lines of the continuity between A. Loisy’s conclusions and the contemporaries’ conceptions. The author comes to the conclusion that the positions of the "father of modernism" are firmly rooted in the constructs of the Protestants, liberal Catholics and secular historians of religions.
