Abstract. Battle compositions in the art of ancient Egypt are an important and little-studied subject. The pharaohs of Ramesside era regularly conducted military campaigns within neighboring states and also protected their country from foreign invasions. These events were reflected in relief compositions on the walls of temples. The author raises the questions related to the principle of battle scenes construction, compositional decision, iconography, as well as the correlation of text and visual languages of narration.
