TERRORISM: PROBLEMS OF UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED NOTION DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. The author considers a scientific problem related to the definition of the notion "terrorism", by the example of the analysis of some researchers’ views on the possibility of creating a universally recognized definition of terrorism shows the complexity of this process; reveals as the most productive the way of understanding the content of terrorism through its most essential parts, and mentions among them the following ones: the application of the extreme forms of violence, intimidation, political motivation, and publicity.
