Abstract. The author researches the question of preparing the attempts on the Black Sea Fleet commander admiral G. P. Chukhnin and the commander of Odessa military district A. V. Kaul'bars’s lives by the revolutionary organizations of the South Ukrainian provinces at the beginning of the ХХ th century, basing on the use of little-studied sources for the first time presents the detailed recreation of the terror acts against these representatives of the military administration, and analyzes the impact of the attempts on their lives on public opinion.
