PROBLEMS OF FOOD AND LIVING ESSENTIALS SUPPLY FOR SOUTHERN URAL PROVINCIAL TOWNS POPULATION IN 1915-1916

Abstract. The author considers the problems of food and living essentials supply for Southern Ural provincial towns population in 1915-1916, basing on the archival material for the first time introduced into scientific circulation researches the important and characteristic aspects of Ufa and Orenburg daily life in the spirit of still topical everyday life history, pays particular attention to the reasons of crisis phenomena, government actions and public reaction to the situation formed in these towns, comes to the conclusion that goods famine and food shortage had a negative impact on the townspeople’s mood, and tells that social situation both in Ufa and Orenburg was becoming strained, and it was particularly fraught under the conditions of the bloody First World War.
