ON QUESTION OF WORLD OUTLOOK CORE OF THE INDIAN RELIGIOSITY: MOKSHAAND NIRVANA-CENTRICITY CONTRA THEO-CENTRICITY

Abstract. The author reveals the content of the notion "moksha- and nirvana-centricity" of traditional Indian religions as their world outlook core in opposition to the Christian theo-centrism. Moksha and nirvana are soteriological ideals of Indian religions, which are beyond moral criteria in contrast to Christocentric soteriology; moksha and nirvana are attained by knowledge and yogic practice. If the metaphysical foundation of the Indian religion is an impersonal soteriological ideal, then the tendencies of the Indian theism cannot be in the center of this religiosity, but are limited by the "periphery".
