AESTHETICS OF EVENT: VENETIAN CARNIVAL

Abstract. The author considers the Venetian Carnival, uniting all its participants in the common action, as the main event of city life that allows going beyond the ordinary course of time. Carnival builds new reality, opens up new meanings in the familiar space. Capturing its eventfulness in a word, music, painting, going on in commedia dell'arte, Carnival preserves itself in order to go out to the streets of the city again during holidays. Carnival is the revelation of secret, when hidden and appearing miraculously, sacred and profane, true and false can see themselves, distinguish and understand.
