Abstract. The article considers the problem of the creation and formation of the group of the states - Brazil, Russia, India and China, which is called the BRIC countries in international policy and economy. The political and economic reasons of the formation of the BRIC group and the issues of the occurrence of functioning mechanism within the group are studied. The BRIC phenomenon is studied in international political and economic aspects as the formation of an alternative to the Atlantic order of the world leading countries in the person of the United States and Western Europe.
