RICE CULTIVATION DEVELOPMENT IN KUBAN REGION (THE SECOND HALF OF THE 1960S - THE BEGINNING OF THE 1980S)

Abstract. The article considers the development of rice cultivation in Kuban region in the period from 1965 till 1980. The author pays special attention to the development of melioration that significantly increased rice crops in Krasnodar territory. The author shows the process of creating material-technical and scientific basis for the growing of rice, which contributed to the transformation of rice cultivation into the well-mechanized industry of grain farming characterized by the high concentration and specialization of production.
