COMPETENT PERSONS: EXPERT AND SPECIALIST IN THE RUSSIAN CRIMINAL PROCEDURE

Abstract. The paper examines the legal institution of expertise and professional advice while investigating criminal cases (crimes). The author analyzes the common and specific features of competent persons in criminal procedure, presents a comparative description of the mentioned institution at various stages of forming criminal procedure legislation. The researcher raises the problems of using the non-traditional forms of the participation of other competent persons in criminal procedure.
