TOOLS OF MAINTENANCE AND STRENGTHENING OF THE RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE SPACE IN COUNTRIES OF THE CIS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF AZERBAIJAN)

Abstract. After the USSR disintegration Russian lost its status as the state language and the number of people knowing it decreased. Nevertheless, in some countries of the post-soviet area, particularly in Azerbaijan, it is extensively used. Here, the Russian language has kept its positions in informational field, it is taught at schools and universities. The goal of the article is to reveal the most efficient tools of the Russian language maintenance in the countries of the CIS and to analyze the prospects of the further strengthening of its positions by the example of Azerbaijan.
