Abstract. In the article the author suggests the analysis of the literary and composer’s heritage of Richard Wagner from the perspective of the role and peculiarities of the interpretation of his creativity in the context of the culture and ideology of the Third Reich, reveals divergences between the composer’s theoretical views and their transformation in the mentioned context, and assesses the place of the composer’s heritage of Richard Wagner within the framework of the musical culture of the Third Reich.
