COMPOSITION PECULIARITIES OF TETRALOGY "THE RING OF THE NIBELUNG" IN DIRECTOR’S SOLUTION OF K. HOLTEN

Abstract. In the article the opera performance "The Ring of the Nibelung" by the Danish director K. Holten is analyzed. The performance belongs to the popular for years school of "director’s theatre" and it is the first stage production experience of Wagner’s music dramas in Denmark after a centenary recess. The composition regularities in connection with the new idea content of Wagner’s tetralogy are detected. The author identifies two composition aspects (reduced lines, ictuses-anticipations) and reveals their essence by the example of the characters, who get in the sphere of their influence.
