GENDER ASYMMETRY OF STATUS-ROLE DISTRIBUTION IN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS OF RUSSIA AND THE USA (COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS)

Ostapenko Anna Borisovna
Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of gender asymmetry in the educational systems of Russia and the United States. The author presents a comparative analysis of the status-role positions of women and men in educational institutions of different levels of quality and prestigiousness. Statistical data show a common tendency for international educational space - the lower the level of the educational institution is, the fewer men are on the staff, the higher the level is - the fewer women are on the staff. Thus, the studies show that gender criterion has been playing an important role in the educational systems of both Russia and other countries.
