CONCEPTION "META-NARRATIVE" BY JEAN-FRAN?OIS LYOTARD IN THE CONTEXT OF NARRATOLOGY

Maslov Evgenii Sergeevich
Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University

Abstract. The article examines the concept "meta-narrative" as it is interpreted by Jean-Fran?ois Lyotard. The author analyzes such aspects of meta-narrative as the structure, integrity, representation of time in it, specifics of the narrator’s position, value aspect and relation with goal-setting. Meta-narrative is compared with historical and artistic narrative. The principles of structuralistic, post-structuralistic and phenomenological narratology and philosophy of narrative serve as the methodological basis of the analysis, which allows explaining the nature of certain qualities of meta-narrative.
