STATE POLICY OF POPULATION FORMATION IN THE RUSSIAN FAR EAST IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY: HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE

Abstract. In the article the main directions and methods of the Russian state policy on population formation in the eastern remote areas of the country in the second half of the XIX - at the beginning of the XX century are revealed. The work contains data on principal migration flows to the Far East. On the basis of the conducted analysis it is detected that an important tool in the implementation of population policy was the Russian legislation.
