SPECIFICS OF INTERPRETING THE BALLET "THE CORONATION OF SPRING" STAGED BY THE ARTIST M. SHEMYAKIN

Abstract. The article is devoted to the relevant problem of interpreting ballet classics in modern musical theatre. By the example of the performance "The Coronation of Spring" staged by the world-famous artist Mikhail Shemyakin on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in 2006 the researcher analyzes an attempt to reconsider radically the original author’s conception and concludes that the experiment results in the appearance of original performative production constructed in accordance with its own laws determined by the artist.
