THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN THE RUSSIAN SOCIO-POLITICAL PROCESS

Abstract. The participation of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in socio-political sphere is examined. It is found out that the clergymen have begun to integrate into the All-Russian processes more actively. The representatives of the Church together with the governmental authorities take part in national and world events. It is argued that the intensification of the ROC in socio-political life happens with the direct participation of interested ruling groups, as ecclesiastical institutions contribute to the unity of the nation in hard time.
