SOUVENIR FROM ONTOLOGICAL AND GNOSIOLOGICAL POSITIONS

Abstract. The article offers a methodological conception of examining souvenir as an ontological phenomenon of culture; everyday and scientific-theoretical approaches to examining and understanding the essence of souvenir as a representative of the object-material world and the world of the values and meanings of culture or subject are estimated. The main function of souvenir is in keeping and restoring the ontological continuity of culture or subject. The unjustified equating of souvenir to praxeologically "useful" thing is fraught with its ontological degradation.
