VOIVODE TRIAL IN SHUYA IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XVII CENTURY

Abstract. The article by the material of the archive of Shuya Zemstvo Izba touches on the issue of the alienation of the juridical rights of the tradespeople’s community in favour of the voivode in the first half of the XVII century. It is concluded that the key instrument to press the tradespeople was the right to joint trial granted to the voivode by the government. The author argues for the thesis that from the beginning of the 1620s the system of voivode administration acquires close and mutually beneficial ties with the tradespeople’s community.
