CREATIVE ACTIVITY OF THE ITALIAN MUSICIANS M. PACI AND A. FOA IN THE CONTEXT OF ARTISTIC LIFE OF RUSSIAN EMIGRATION IN SHANGHAI

Aizenshtadt Sergei Abramovich
Far Eastern State Academy of Art

Abstract. The article is devoted to the little-studied aspect of the musical activity of Russian diaspora in China in the 20-40s of the last century. The creative work of the Italian musicians M. Paci and A. Foa, its place and role in the promotion of European art in East Asia are considered in the context of the artistic life of Russian emigration. At the same time some data are for the first time introduced into Russian musicology. The conclusion is made that the creative relations of Russian emigrants with their Western European colleagues played a crucial role in the creation of emigrant social and cultural environment, which was so powerful that it was possible not only to increase their own traditions, but also to enrich Chinese culture.
