Abstract. The article discovers historical aspects of cooperation between Persian merchants and Astrakhan customs in the first half of the XIX century, when the Russian government aspired to create favourable conditions for all the participants of Russian-Asian trade as a method to promote Russian products at eastern markets. In this connection Astrakhan trend is of great interest, which over the centuries was a key one in trade with Persia and in the mentioned period became the priority in the context of broadening the borders of the Russian Empire in Transcaucasia.
