SPREAD OF NETWORK OF THE ISLAMIC SALVATION FRONT OF ALGERIA IN EUROPE IN THE 1990S

Abstract. The article examines the activity of the Islamic Salvation Front of Algeria in France and other European countries in the 1990s. The author reveals the scale of the network of Algerian Islamists in Europe, and also analyzes successive and ideological connections between various structures of the ISF. The example of the activity of the ISF in Europe is of special significance as it may contribute to more thorough comprehension of the phenomenon of Islamism and Islamic terrorism resulting from it. Many methods of struggle and lines of behavior, which were used by Algerian Islamists in the 1990s, are repeated nowadays by more organized and radical movements, and it explains the topicality of the research.
