Abstract. The purpose of the article is an ontological analysis of time measurement. A brief historical and philosophical analysis of the problem of time measurement is given. It is shown that the uniformity of time itself and the comparison of the durations of co-uniform (uniform relative to each other) processes is an ontological foundation of time measurement, and also that the measurement of durations is equivalent only to the quantitative expression of time and reveals none of its own qualitative ontological features, except for the feature of uniformity.
