WOMEN’S LABOUR AT THE RAILROADS OF SIBERIA IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR PERIOD

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying women’s contribution into the functioning of the railroads of Siberia during the Russian Empire’s participation in the First World War. The author provides statistical data on the amount, percentage, employments of women in the pre-war and war periods. The paper concludes on the All-Russian (in particular, Siberian) tendency for broadening the women’s labour sphere, increasing the amount of female employees, which was conditioned by the demands of the railroad industry.
