AMERICAN BUSINESS AND THE PROBLEM OF CREATING NATIONAL MEDICAL INSURANCE (THE SECOND HALF OF THE 1970S)

Abstract. The article examines the American business’s attitude to the health care reform plans that were discussed in the period of D. Carter’s presidency. The author shows the essence of the most popular approaches and proposals regarding national medical insurance, describes and analyzes the views of different groups and organizations of the American business towards them. The paper mentions various approaches of medical and non-medical business to the health care reform and state regulation in this sphere.
