Svetlova Ol'ga Aleksandrovna Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M. I. Glinka
Abstract. The article examines a recently written service to the saint and confessor Ambrose of Belaya Krinitsa as a hagiographical vocal cycle, which originally implements a feat of the first Old Believers’ metropolitan canonized by the Russian Orthodox Old Believers’ Church in 1996. The author focuses on the night service that becomes the basic liturgical space to worship the saint. Analyzing the service to the saint in the tradition of Novosibirsk Old Believers’ community the paper identifies the ideological-semantic and functional peculiarities of hagiographical liturgical genres.
