ORIGINS OF RACIAL DIVISION IN THE WESLEYAN CHURCH OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Daved'yanov Andrei Valer'evich
Vladimir State University named after Alexander and Nikolay Stoletovs

Abstract. The article examines the historical reasons of racial segregation in one of the many Protestant denominations in the USA - the Wesleyan Church. The study of the problem highlights the negative consequences of the society division in general and the Wesleyan communities in particular on the basis of the racial criterion. The author substantiates the position that racial division within the Wesleyan Church is in direct contradiction with Christian theology and reduces the efficiency of the Wesleyan Church activity in the solution of the major social problems related to the humanitarian mission of the organization in the society.
