Abstract. The article deals with a special sphere of culture existence - a ritual, in the space of which the correlation and significance of two most important components that allow creating the world image, character and picture in the consciousness of the subjects of a ritual action are shown. These components according to the authors’ point of view are such forms of the spiritual and physical being of a human as dance and mask. Dance and mask in the interpretation of the authors appear in the ontological vein as existential, invariant forms of culture existence - from the archaic ritual to the present.
