Abstract. Studying epigraphic monuments within art analysis can significantly enrich scientific knowledge and eliminate lacunas in this sphere; consequently there is a necessity to conduct a comprehensive study on the problem which is still undiscovered. The article, providing the first approach to the issue, aims to identify individual style of the carvers who created the emblems of Sinope ceramic stamps. Introducing stylistic typology of Sinope emblems by the example of the image "eagle on a dolphin" is a crucial step to achieve the research objective: the developed typology helps to discover artistic relations between the analyzed emblems and to identify individual techniques of Hellenistic handicraft schools.
