ENTERTAINMENT PRACTICES IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE WEST SIBERIAN CITIES EVERYDAY LIFE AT THE END OF THE XIX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY AS VIEWED BY WITNESSES (BY THE MATERIALS OF PERIODICAL PRESS)

Abstract. The article analyzes in detail entertainment culture as it is perceived by the representatives of Siberian journalism, thus introducing new interpretation of the subject. The author proposes a brief analysis and classification of regional entertainments in the structure of everyday life of the West Siberian urban community and concludes that thematic dominants represented in the periodical press as the most important urban text adequately represent the spectrum of preferences, specificity of citizens’ collective mentality and dynamics of sociocultural processes in the entertainment sphere of the Russian periphery at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century.
