THE RUSSIAN DIASPORA IN GERMANY (1921-1923): NUMBER, COMPOSITION AND MATERIAL STATUS

Popov Maksim Evgen'evich
Gorno-Altaisk State University

Abstract. The article sets out the tasks to determine the social composition, material status and number of the Russian diaspora in 1921-1923 in Germany, which was one of the main centres of the Russian emigration at the beginning of the 1920s. The study of these issues makes it possible to reveal the characteristic features of the Russian socio-cultural environment abroad and to assess the degree of its influence on the Western culture. In addition, the experience of the adaptation of the Russian emigrants abroad can be useful in modern conditions. The author makes an attempt to generalize separate data illustrating the nature of the Russian socio-cultural environment in a foreign country.
