ORTHODOX THEOLOGY, SECULAR EDUCATION AND SCIENCE IN CONTEMPORARY RUSSIA: DIALOGUE, CONFLICT OR AUTONOMY?

Abstract. The article deals with the problem of the relationship between religion and science from the standpoint of Orthodox theology and the secular academic community in contemporary Russia. It presents both the official position of the Russian Orthodox Church on the latest scientific achievements, secular culture and education and individual views of various Russian scholars, philosophers and theologians. In particular, the author analyzes the problem of introducing theology into the secular sphere of science and education in the Russian Federation.
