COMPOSITIONAL ANALYSIS OF BRONZE BADGE FROM THE BURIAL MOUND ARZHAN-1

Abstract. In the article the compositional analysis of a bronze badge from the Arzhan-1 burial mound in the form of a predator curling up into a circle is presented. The emphasis is put on the specificity of an art criticism analysis as applied to ancient art. The analogies are given and the possible origins of the figurative motif in ancient cultures are revealed. For the first time the compositional analysis of the bronze badge is given and the important conclusion about how the structure and construction of the work affect its artistic expressiveness is drawn.
