"THE TAMWORTH MANIFESTO" AS AN ACTION PROGRAM OF SIR ROBERT PEEL’S GOVERNMENT AND THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION OF 1835 IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Abstract. The article deals with the role and place of the first Cabinet of Sir Robert Peel and the parliamentary election of 1835 in the process of evolution of the political and party system of the United Kingdom in the 30s of the XIX century. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of "the Tamworth Manifesto" as a program document of Sir Robert Peel’s first government and to the study of its importance for transformation of the British political and party system into the constitutional mechanism of the modern type.
