CONDUCTING ELECTIONS TO PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION BODIES (ON THE ISSUE OF REALIZATION OF ALEXANDER II’S REFORMS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL)

Abstract. The article by the example of the Russian provincial town of the second half of the XIX century shows the procedure of elections to provincial administration bodies according to the Municipal Statute of 1870. The author analyzes and introduces into scientific use previously unpublished documents from the provincial archive. On the basis of the archival materials the paper discovers specificity of the town councilors elections in the provincial town Arzamas of Nizhny Novgorod province.
