NUMBER AND TENDENCIES OF DEVELOPMENT OF DAGESTAN POPULATION IN THE 80S OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. In the article for the first time in Dagestan historiography the historical-demographic aspect of the population increase of the multinational region is considered, it is shown that in the 80s of the XX century Dagestan remained one of the few regions of the country, in which total population growth was observed. The author on the basis of reliable factual material analyzes sources of positive changes in the population, as well as age and sex composition and nuptiality among urban and rural population of the republic.
