Abstract. The article analyzes processes of formation and development of collective-farm trade within the territory of Bashkiria in the 1930s. On the basis of archival and published sources the role of collective-farm trade in overcoming food crisis during functioning of the card system is determined. In the second half of the 1930s the most important element of collective-farm trade in the Republic was fairs, which, on the one hand, complemented state and cooperative trade in provision of food security for the urban population, and on the other hand, were centres of counter trade.
