NIKOLAY IVANOVICH ISTSELENNOV - THE KEEPER OF RUSSIAN ART TRADITIONS IN EMIGRATION

Abstract. The article characterizes creative activity of the architect Nikolay Ivanovich Istselennov, the outstanding figure of the Russian ?migr? community, who devoted himself to studying Old Russian church art and designing the first ?migr? parishes in France and Belgium. The author describes in detail iconostases design and architecture of churches created by N. I. Istselennov in cooperation with icon painters of the "Icon" society. The paper for the first time describes the icon case of Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God designed by N. I. Istselennov for St. Basil seminary and the research center "Istina ("Truth") of the town of Lille.
