ARCHPASTORAL ACTIVITY OF ST. LUKA (VOYNO-YASENETSKY) ON THE REVIVAL OF KRASNOYARSK DIOCESE IN 1942-1944

Abstract. The article considers the selfless activity of Archbishop Luka (V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky) on the revival of Krasnoyarsk diocese (1942-1944). The paper focuses on the state of church life in the region: absence of operating churches until January 1943, attitude of the authorities to the church, etc. The opening date of the chapel in Nikolayevskaya Sloboda, which was achieved by Saint Luka, has been confirmed documentarily. For the first time the author shows the size of Nikolayevskaya chapel (converted into a church), which allowed understanding the concern of the clerics and the laity about the lack of a larger church. The article pays special attention to the preaching work of Archbishop Luka in Nikolayevskaya church, discovers its patriotic orientation and practical importance.
