PROBLEMS OF WORLD OUTLOOK TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE OSSETIANS’ ETHNORELIGIOUS SYSTEM

Abstract. In the article, on the basis of theoretical material with the involvement of ethnographic sources, the processes of the transformation of the Ossetians’ mythological world outlook into the religious one are analysed. The author has identified the approximate chronological framework of this process, having pointed out its possible causes; the main one was the involvement of Ossetia into the sphere of the Russian cultural and political influence in the second half of the XIX - at the beginning of the XX century. The mentioned influence first of all determined the modernization of the Ossetian mountaineers’ consciousness, which was expressed, in particular, in enriching ethnic religion with the elements of doctrinal religions, primarily, Orthodox Christianity.
