Abstract. The article examines problems of methodology of social sciences in S. N. Bulgakov’s "Philosophy of Economy". The paper aims to identify interrelation of S. N. Bulgakov’s methodological conception and modern approaches to developing and justifying social sciences and the humanities. It is shown that the basic principles and purposes of S. N. Bulgakov’s methodology of social cognition are prototypic or closely related to such priority tasks and strategies of modern social and classical knowledge as accent on individual forms of the social and the cultural, abandoning logical fetishism, the constructivist paradigm, micro-analysis of the social world.
