HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPTION OF GENIUS: GENDER ASPECT

Shalaeva Marina Vladislavovna

Submitted: 06.04.2018
Abstract. The article is devoted to the philosophical problems of women’s creativity, which in the modern world acquire the status of a promising research area. Their relevance is conditioned by the historically adopted woman’s cultural anonymity. Participating equally in the historical and cultural process, often contributing immediately to the change of cultural paradigms, the woman has appeared deprived of the genius status. In this connection the author aims to trace the evolution of views on the phenomenon of genius and geniality, paying special attention to evaluating the place and importance of the woman in cultural development. Thus, the paper is intended to compensate for the existing gap in the studies on this issue. The originality of the study involves justification of ontological specificity of the woman’s true geniality: the woman’s subjectivity based on corporal experience comes out as a potential foundation for an alternative way of culture development.
