ATTITUDE TO HISTORY IN NOVELS BY F. ISKANDER AND L. TOLSTOY: ATTEMPT OF COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract. The article discusses the main peculiarities of depicting history in the novels "War and Peace" by L. Tolstoy and "Sandro of Chegem" by F. Iskander, determines similarities and differences between historiosophical conceptions expressed in these works, which were touched upon by many scholars, but have never been studied separately from other problems. The paper explores the attitude of both authors to official history and the state, their understanding of the purpose of history, the causes of historical events.
