Institute of Humanities Study and Problems of Smaller Peoples of the North of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yakutsk

Abstract. The article presents the analysis of the plot of the Even nimkan "Cuckoo" ("Kekuchen"). As a result, the author identifies the motive "Unrecognized shaman" known among some peoples of Siberia, North-East Asia and the Far East for the first time. There is a reason to believe that the motive "Unrecognized shaman" was borrowed by the Evens from the Turkic people living within the territory of their settlement.
