SOME ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF THE RUSSIAN LIBERALISM

Abstract. The article considers the historical conditions for the formation of liberal ideas in the Russian society. The characteristic features of the Russian liberalism are analyzed in the context of interrelations between the state and a certain part of the Russian intelligentsia. The necessity of compromise and mutually beneficial cooperation between the elite and the rest of society is revealed and substantiated. Basing on the study, the author proposes to allocate several approaches for considering liberalism from the position of the national idea, and formulates different ideological approaches to determining the essential features of the Russian liberalism.
