Abstract. The article describes the conception of constructing a local positioning system of unmanned aerial vehicles of the helicopter type, which consists in organization of a net of fixed follower arrangements - anchors - distributed in space, each comprising a video camera and a transceiving radio-module. All anchors are connected to the ground dispatching station performing integration of received information. To ensure maximum reliability of coordinates calculation, apart from information on dispersion of coordinate measuring, information about defects in current samples, which are excluded from consideration, is taken into account. The paper presents a comparative characteristic of alternative methods of obtaining information about UAV coordinates via video and radio equipment.
